Backseat install

Just thought I'd share a couple pictures of my setup. Well, I originally wanted to hide any amplifiers but with the performance and power I was looking for, I was forced to go to the seat backs. I was able to mount them and still use the lift up shelf. I went with a removable box with a 10' sub, I also replaced the stock JBL 8" sub with a Pioneer "pancake" style sub that actually sounds not too bad even without the help of the 10". I replaced the door speakers with Diamond Audio separates in the front and coax's in the back doors. I used the stock Nav system and installed an Ipod in the front. I dynamatted everything and thr system is WAYYYYY powerful and sounds super clear and tight. The Kicker amps are super strong. With the cargo cover on, you can't tell anything isn't stock by looking in the window. I'm pretty pleased because with the removeable box, I really don't lose any utility of the back area. The seats fold up and down still perfectly and with the use of a blanket, I've even stacked things on the amps with no problems (although not a habit).

Question about the Pioneer sub you installed in factory JBL 8" location. Are you using a seperate amp to power it? Or did you just use the JBL amp? Thanks

I'm using the Kicker 750.1 for the subs. It's 2 ohm stable so it sees a 4 ohm load with just the 8" and a 2 ohm (parallel) load with the 10" added. I think it puts out 750w(2ohm) and 375w(4ohms). The Kicker 650.4 sends 120 to each door speaker (4 ohms). The amps are pretty power under-rated. The amps are almost too powerful .....hella strong!

That must have been from a circuit city (all kicker / tsunami stuff)

If so, did you have them do it? Which store, they did a good job!

I did get the MTX sub at Circuit City but I got everything else on ebay. ....just can't bring myself to pay retail. I did all the work in my garage ...again, the idea of paying someone else to do the install along with the fact there was no one in my area I trusted to get it done how I wanted. Plus if I ever have any problems, I know how its wired up. I took my time. My skills are limited; there is one descent place in town but I just didn't want to pay em'. Im pretty happy with it, it took 2 days, mostly due to all the dynamatting, and it sounds great.
