Backspacing with 285's

Would 4.5" backspacing +1 offset work with a 3" lift 285/75 16x8 wheel on a 2000 with out rubbing or would I need more backspacing?

Was a good looking truck from the ad. How'd it look in person?

Good but not as advertised, interior smelt horrible had 169000 miles not 160000 like they said, it had 16' on it but door sill said 15's the lady told me it had the locker and it didn't.

I looked at a Tacoma and a 4Runner both in the Hampton/McDonough area. Those are probably a bit south for you in TN, though. Both were alright, but not as nice as I had expected. The cleanest one I found was in Buford and was sold the morning I was going to look at it. I found one in about the same condition in Tucker. As soon as I drove it and looked at, I snatched it up. You have to be able to jump on these as soon as you can. Toyota's are highly sought after in this area.

I'm sure you have seen it if you found the one in Cartersville, but if you're down this way, you may be interested.

I found mine on Autotrader which has a few more used dealers and less private owners.

2000 4runner

There's a couple 2wd in the Hampton area that keep popping up on CL, 2 of which are owned by the same guy. Neither are purchasable in my opinion.

I, too, found mine on autotrader. Seems those are better products than what I saw on CL. There's also a 4wd limited in Peachtree City, but it was owned by a high school kid and caked on mud in the engine bay. I passed once he sent me those pics.

I really want 4wheel drive, it's just been hard to find a Limited or Sport in 4wd in the color I wanr. I'm picky I know, but I know what I want. I guess I will just have to hold out for a little longer.

Honestly, that is the best mindset to have. I needed to buy a vehicle within the week and happen to find a fair deal. I would have rather paid $500 less, but I was in dire need of a replacement vehicle. My only advice would be to have cash ready, get good pictures before looking at the vehicle to save a wasted trip, and if you find a good one, don't wait too long on it. The good ones sell fast, especially with the traffic on Craigslist.

I think almost every 4runner says 15" wheel on the door sill regardless if it came with 16's. THe true way to know is the size of the brake rotors. I know when i first got my truck it said 15" wheels and i got new rotors for 15's and they were too small. It had the 16's and 265's

Those door stickers are very misleading
