after wishing for a backup cam for a year, i finally decided to pull the trigger and get the new bec106 for my avn5500 i put in last year.
after putting in the cam in the tailgate and trying to fit it, i had to unplug some wire harness to the tailgate lock. and then when i reconnected it, the POS didnt automatically pull in the door. all it did was lock half way and u couldnt close or open it !!! I was soo pissed and fingers were all cut and hurttin bad n shit.
after 4 hours i finally found the release tab inside the plastic lock cover under some foam. but the lock still didnt work.
after another 3 hours of checking fuses and wiring, i pulled all wire harnesses in the tailgate ECU and normalized it. PROBLEM SOLVED !!!! thank god, i was gonna hate myself if i couldnt lock it and had to go to the dealer ! apparently if u pull the lock harness, u need to pull all the harnesses in the tailgate ecu to reset the Piece Of Shit !
now i still have to route the wire all the way to the front of the car for the camera. too cold outside tho :-( ..... i wanna finish this so badly...............
