Bad Boy Horn Comes Out of the Closet

So you’re probably wondering what the hell this is all about. Well…I have been looking for a new horn for several weeks and I did some research on train horns. I wanted to get something so loud you would crap your drawers if you were anywhere near the proximity of my car. Unfortunately, after a bit of research I came to the conclusion this would not be an affordable option. There are much better upgrades I would prefer to drop $300 plus on. Not to mention I didn’t want to find a place to mount an air compressor or add the weight.

I looked at other horn options online and found the Bad Boy alternative which received rave reviews scoring 4.5 to 5 stars depending on where you look. People loved this horn claiming it was 2-5 times louder than the stock horn of most vehicles and very easy to install. Okay, this sounds like it fits the bill perfectly.

The next weekend Harbor Freight was having a sale and I came up on a gift card. The opportunity presented itself for me get some new toys and who am I to turn this down. I was walking down the auto isle and guess what I saw? Damn right, the Bad Boy horn for only $25.99. I mean, can you argue with a horn that gets great reviews as well as has the balls to carry the name Bad Boy. Had to buy.

The install was a breeze. I remove the old horn, plug in the new one and hook up a ground wire. The suspense was killing me to hear this Bad Boy blow. I got into my Runner and mashed on the horn to find to my disbelief the queerest sound ever! Boy did this horn blow, but in a very, very, very……very bad way. I will not deny it is a fairly loud horn however it is the most awkward, Euro-gay sounding horn ever. It’s difficult for me to believe that all those people who reviewed the horn would be proud to have this sound bellow from their car unless they were driving a float in a Pride Parade. Disappointing to say the least and hence the title, Bad Boy horn comes out of the closet.

So Gay

lol.. other than tools, I probably would never put anything on my truck from harbor freight

sucks you got gypped. Just do the train horns, believe me you wont regret them.

We've got a place like Harbour Freight over here in Canada, only the call it "Princess Auto". They also carry horn replacements there, they are called "Freeway Blasters". I got a pair of high tones for about $30.00 plus taxes......I never looked back! So much louder and "manly-er" (if that's even a word) than the stock Toyota Horn! ;) Not sure what you guys think, I find that Stock horn reminds me of the Roadrunner from the Bugs and Tweety Show! lol!

I have one on mine and if you go to the website thye have audio clips. The series numbers change what tone and the noise it makes. I have the one that actually sounds like a damn train and its loud! just check your series and do some research before broham. I do know of the one you are talking about and yeah.....that would be coming off imm!! Good luck!
This evening ill give you my serise number so you can get the one everyone had great reviews about!

Hella supertones are a popular aftermarket horn, and from personal experience, they are definitely loud enough to cause pooping in pants, lol.

I threw 4 old caddy horns in my 96. $5 at the pick'n and it sounds good 'nough. They're no train horn but not a wimpy meep sound either.

The Bad Boys don't have a ground issue, do they?

I had no issues with the ground. I've heard there are a lot of problems with fuses constantly breaking. Wait, this horn sucks who cares? It's only good for a laugh.
