Bad Brake Caliper

So this corrosion seems to be caused just by normal North East coast road salt (NY and NJ) and not 4 wheeling on the Atlantic coast? Guess I need to check mine - as my alloy wheels are already showing signs of road salt corrosion --- argh!

wow i thought the slight vibration in the pedal when i braked was all in my head but i guess i'm having second thoughts now.

i just bought my 2007 4runner about 3 months ago and within a month i felt this ever so subtle vibration once in awhile when i pressed the brakes. you know the engine vibration (which can be somewhat felt in the brake pedal) when you turn on the air conditioning in your car or when you cooling fan turns on? something just like that, but it only occurs when i press the brake. sometimes i also have this weird delay in my brakes. like when i initially press the brakes, i can feel the car slow down, but then it kinda automatically brakes a little harder even though i'm keeping steady pressure all throughout the braking (could this just be the car downshifting?).

but yeah, i think i will take my car to the dealership to get my brakes inspected. lots of useful info in this thread.

Depending on how hard you are hitting them that sounds like what ABS brakes are meant to do. Doubt youd have corrosion or even warped rotors after 3 months.

i'm not pressing on them hard at all.

this can be felt sometimes when i'm slowing down while driving, or while i'm at a standstill and i press the brakes kinda hard then i feel the vibration.

would that be the ABS?

i mean, the vibration is REALLLLLY soft. i know how it feels when you brake at high speeds with warped rotors. i'm pretty sure it's not warped rotors.

maybe i'm just paranoid~
