Bad Catalytic disables my Traction Control!?

Ok Alex so you put a lot of money into your 4 runner. My point was that I was under the impression that 4th gen's would be as reliable as my 3rd gen was. I thought I simply had a bad lemon but after reading a lot of the common problems and how much they cost I realized that is not the case. I could have traded it in a long time ago if I hated it that much. Yet I still have her and will have her for a long time hopefully. I have just *****ed a lot about my 4 runner as of late.

Yeah I seem to have a 4Runner that loves to warp rotors and seize calipers.

I have brittle clips and some squeaks. That's about all I have, aside from the cracked header and frame rust that New England caused.

It's a shame your truck is so problematic. Hopefully you can figure it out

I know all my problems as of late are caused by my stupidity in one way or another.

I definitely had a problem with rotors and wheel bearings. Part of the problem was the shop I was using. I bought this truck used and she has definitely had her share of problems and I am working through them. I actually just bought some non-fouler o2 kits today and hope to install them real soon. Then maybe I wont have to keep sinking money into her besides normal maintenance costs . I'm also debating on buying a scangauge. Time will tell.

I have the code reader and it that doesn't work. The "VSC TRAC" and "VSC OFF" light come on immediately when I put the car in drive and move forward.

is it possible all I need to do is perform a "zero point calibration"? Ive read that other places online, but it doesn't seem to match my issue exactly.

Just seems unsafe that Toyota would disable the traction control safety feature and put me and my family at risk, all to get my cat replaced.

Mine is the same way and I will tell you this. 2 weeks ago on my way to Vegas, I had to hit the brakes something fierce and the truck was out of control instantly.
Before the lights came on and I had to do the same, truck was as stable as if I never even slowed down. 5000 pounds is a lot to tame!
