Odd, I plugged my ScanGauge in today in prep for a trip to Moab and it never got past the connecting stage. Then I plugged it in to another truck and it worked. Obviously it must be my OBDII port. Anyone know why this isn't working? My only guess is that a pin or whaever's in there, isn't right. Any leads would be appreciated.

No problem, usually most scantool communication issues revolve around the OBD Fuse being blown, and/or there not being power and/or ground on Pins 16 & 5. If all those are good, then we may have to start digging into the diagnostics a bit further, but that's the most common areas to go with first.

didnt high speed can start to appear in some 05s and fully on 2006?
i had issues installing a maestro rr from idatalink in a 05's and none in 06's. it didnt even work when i tried it in my 03 and a 04

Hmmm, pin 16 is good too. I think I'll try a real scan tool and see what happens. Not real urgent but I need to make sure it's working by emissions testing.

[MENTION=66389]BlackWorksInc[/MENTION] - Thanks but no need, this is beyond my comfort level so my trusted mechanic is going to take a look at it after he puts my new CVJ axles in on Monday. The shop sold me some crap Chinese aftermarket ones. They offered to install my CVJ for free as compensation for my troubles after breaking 2 in less than a year.
Hurray, got my CVJ's on! Now back to the OBD issue, my shop could connect and read with one of their scanners, not another and concluded it's probably a flaky pin. I couldn't leave it for further tests but either I will sometime later or replace it myself.

It's hard for me to tell not being familiar with it. I'm guessing not all the connection points have pins, if they do then I can say it's looking weird.
I was looking at it to see how it came apart but it seemed as though the tabs were on the sides but couldn't seperate the pieces. I'll check the back tomorrow.

Not all the pins are used on OBDII Connectors, so that's normal. I was more concerned if the pins looked loose and/or bent.
The connector should come out of the panel easily, if you want to inspect the pins more closely you need to de-pin it.
