Bad radio?

I just bought a '99 Limited a few weeks ago, and the radio supposedly died just before my test drive of it.
I checked the 15a ACC fuse (all of the fuses, actually) by the steering wheel and they all looked fine. So did the fuses by the battery.
I don't want to spend $100+ on a new radio if this one is not bad. Does anyone know of a way to test it? There's no fuse IN the radio, like on some aftermarkets, and no capacitors are leaking.

I can try to use the radio from my RAV4 to test the connections in the 4Runner at least. I don't think the plugs match, but i can use a bit of wire to hotwire them together I believe. Colors match, correct? Yellow is power and black is ground?

Red = Power
Yellow = Memory
Black = Ground

Yes, you should be able to test any radio you want in your 4runner. You simply need to push those three wires into the matching side on the plug end.
