I wanted to post this up for troubleshooting. It was an idiotic oversight on my part but I have never had bad RCA cables before. I hooked up my new Kenwood Excelon X40 this weekend and didn't get sound out of my left front. I swapped the left and right speaker wires at the amp terminal and the problem reversed so I was afraid I had a bad amp. All the fuses were good. I never thought to reverse the RCAs as another step but concluded that was the only thing that could be wrong if the amp was good. I swapped them out and found that one side of the old cables was melted and blown apart in a small, 1/4" long section. I have no idea what would have caused this. The real ***** was that no stores were open that would carry the 17 footer RCAs so I had to remove my passenger seat for a straight run from the h/u to the amp using 12 footers. I should mention that the 2 front channels are running my 6.5 components up front and I have a single 10" sub bridged on the rear for a great modest system with expandability options.
