I can’t say for certain. The hillside was holding me up by my slider. How close were you to tipping over? In a couple of those pics, it looks like you're almost dragging the side of your truck against the terrain.

While that is a valid option, the cost is close to that of a hybrid bumper, so I don't think I would spend that kinda coin on a HWM.I'm probably going with the Pelfrybilt HWM to keep the stock look. You may want to look at the Undercover HWMS for the hidden mount with shackle tabs.
New forum look...aside from my attached images being broken, it looks nice.
Anywho, I'm currently underway upgrading the stock sound system. I went with some JBL Club 3.5" speakers in the dash (with bass blockers) and JBL Club 6x9 components in the front doors. I'm torn/debating on what to do with the rear doors, hatch speakers, and head unit. I plan to get the Scosche head unit surround and have it painted to match the stock black/flake color.
Thoughts are:
Speakers
-6.5" vs 5.25"
-component vs coaxial
Head unit
-Need apple carplay (prefer wireless)
-Need to keep steering wheel controls
-Need to keep backup camera
-Would like to be able to tap into the stock mic for calling
I'm not planning on running an amp, just whatever wattage the new head unit provides.
Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions/advice?
I really like the look of that headunit...very clean. I've read a little about the Maestro iDatalink and definitely think that's something I'd go with.I use the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX as my headunit that has Wireless CarPlay, and retained factory steering wheel controls, USB port, and backup cam using the Maestro iDatalink RR module and TO2 harness. Cool thing about the Maestro is that it also displays OBD-II provided data (RPM, speed, tire pressure, fuel level, etc.) and allows you to change vehicle settings similar to a Carista or Techstream device.
I have searched and not come up with any solutions to retain the factory mic, though, unfortunately. I ran the mic supplied with the headunit to the top of my driver side A pillar. I don't believe there is a way to retain the factory AUX port, either.

How's the quality on calls with the supplied mic?
EDIT: also looks like for about $690 shipped, I can get that setup on Crutchfield.
Does anyone know if with wireless CarPlay, you have to use the GPS antenna that comes with the aftermarket unit? I'm reading some conflicting information online.
Doesn't sound too bad. Any idea on if the factory SiriusXM swaps over?Call quality is okay from what I'm told. Can get a bit loud on the other end if you've got the windows open or a bunch of stuff on the roof creating wind noise.
I tried to use the factory GPS antenna but it didn't fit in the GPS plug on the back of the headunit, so I'm just using the supplied antenna. I simply have it floating around in the dash behind the headunit though and haven't had any signal issues.

I may have just found the solutions for SiriusXM and possibly the OE GPS antennaIt does not, and I believe you will need an additional installed piece to get satellite radio working. I'm not exactly sure what it entails since I don't use it but shouldn't be difficult.
