Baja or Prinsu No drill roof rack

I think of buying a Baja or Prinsu roof rack full length ( No drill), I'm looking for some input from owners of both. With Pros & Cons

After researching racks for months I ordered the SSO on black Friday. To me it looks like a better product. It also looks great installed. Prinsu had more than a few terrible reviews and I dont like the looks, which i know is subjective.
 
I have an RPM Fab full roof rack, and used their no drill option for the front feet. Their rack is very similar to the Prinsu, and the no drill option fit well, and holds the front of the rack in place nicely. I do not see any issues with it.

Just checked them out.. looks legit and lead times seem good! Wonder they hav and option to mount a light bar?
 
Good question, but I didn't ask. Funny, just thought about that when I looked at a Prinsu rack a minute ago. I would call and ask the owner, Don, or his son, Don Jr. I looked at my front wind deflector, and it seems easy enough to notch it out for a light.... Might even consider doing it myself down the road. Bought my sliders and the roof rack in two separate transactions, and they were on time for both purchases.
 
As the owner of a later version of the prinsu rack (post purchase by CBI), don't. The quality sucks. Thin powdercoat, didn't provide all the necessary hardware or my additional crossbar. Also, the rack did not sit flat at all.

Go SSO, Frontrunner, or Gobi.
 
FrontRunner is arguably the best but they look like crap sitting as high as they do off of the roof itself, a light bar hung underneath at the front helps to fill the gap and clean up the aesthetics.

Gobi looks the best but it's the least user friendly, the oldest design, the most expensive, and the hardest to get your hands on.

Prinsu looks very nice and is easy to adapt accessories to but post CBI take over they have gone down hill. I like mine but it's an older one and I got it for a steal lightly used, if I were buying new right now I wouldn't consider Prinsu.

LFD Offroad, SSO, and Ecotechne all have viable options that are more affordable and less popular.

Having to drill the front feet is a detriment in my opinion, I chose to do the rubber foot up front on mine and I have no regrets with that decision as it is holding up well.

Double-check with Frontrunner, but I believe that they have shorter mounts available if you dont like the height. My recollection is that you have to call. It's not a marketed option, but is available if you call.

I believe they have the additional height because they offer camping tables tables that mount on the bottom side of the rack.

I've had my BajaRack for quite a while now, and I have loaded it down with tons of crap for multiple cross country trips without issue. I was lucky and had a forum member point it out on Craigslist (he lived too far away). I was able to pick it up for $400 so it was a great deal. I don't think I'd pay $1k+ for it. None of these racks are super heavy duty material. Just depends on what you want it for. What I would love to do is get the BajaRack feet and have a welder make an aluminum square tube frame to sit on top that is of sturdier material. If you don't want to be super rough with it, you won't have any issues. I did get it powder coated right away. The factory coat didn't feel like it was super thick. I've also walked on it plenty of times, and I'm a large mammal.
 
Thank you all for your help, after some recommendations I look at and ordered a RPM Fab roof rack . I spoke to Don Sr he explained how he impoved on the Prinsu looking rack and price could be beat for the quality I'm getting.

I inquired about it about a week ago, they are no longer offering it now that they have their regular height rack. They told me there were 8 holes total I believe that needed to be drilled through for that option and there were complaints about the wind fairing not sitting properly and not being effective at that height.
