Sure it's been asked but how much height will the Gobi Stealth (w/o light bar) add? I've got a TRD Pro at stock ride height now. With the Gobi I don't think I'll be able to get into my garage but gotta keep an eye out for parking garages, drive-thru's, etc.

Gobi roofrack vs Baja roofrack

Hey guys I'm trying to purchase a great roof rack that will last as well durable. I know gobi is durable by you walking on top of it, can you do the same with Baja? I do want to attach lights to the roof rack. Just want to know what's the best for my buck $$$ :target::hungry::angel::roadkill:

You can walk on a Baja as well, sleep up there, whatever you want. Either brand is going to be good for durability. The no rise (good) or standard (better) Gobi are good racks to add lights too. I personally like my flat baja but wouldn't recommend it for lighting additions.

Camping, night rides, light, totally BA. Then again I don't have a light bar...but I like seeing them on other rigs.

Thank you for this I was reading on bsja's website and looking at the standard basket with mesh floor and it indicated a weight of 300lb and static of 600lb. And I think gobi has a weight capacity of 1000lbs . I'm not too sure

No problem. The Load Capacity is 300lb for the Gobi stealth...I would assume the static for both are the same considering the load capacity are, but you know what they say about assuming.

Bajarack Moonroof Insert and Tubular vs Mesh

Baja is making an insert now. I will post pics when I receive mine

Did the Bajarack moonroof insert ever happen? If so, do you have pics? If they were posted before, they are no longer up on the thread...

Also, does anyone have any longer-term feedback/opinions about the Bajarack mesh vs tubular floors of the long, low-profile basket? Tubular would seem to be sturdier, but my personal preference would be to go with the mesh if it was rock solid and wouldnt warp or weaken over time and be able to handle standing/walking/etc...

I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on the Baja Utility Flat rack and the Stealth Gobi rack. I just don't know what to do.

Part of me doesn't want to wait so long for the Gobi. I will be overlanding the next few years and have learned from previous trips that it's really nice having a flat rack on top for just about everything - keeping your gear up there at night to make shift shower.

I like the way the baja is so minimalistic, but fear that things will fly off if their just a tiny bit ill-fastened. Anyone with a Utility Flat rack that can vouch for it? Or should I just go Basic and get the Gobi for 500$ more?

I went with Baja mainly because from ordering to installation was about 21 days. The product itself is great quality and I'm happy with it.

With that being said, if I had patience, I would have gone the Gobi route.

Mesh floor. I'd want to be able to sit on top on a nice day in the desert.

I've had both. Frankly, the Gobi is just a bit more refined. The Gobi's mounting system and equipment is better. The racks themselves are pretty equivalent. Fit and finish are better on the Gobi. I would buy either again though.

Baja & Gobi Racks for Canada

Canadian new member here good day all, would like to know if anyone is familiar with a dealer distributor for either Gobi or Baja roof racks for the Toronto Ontario area in Canada I would like to get one of those direct mount to roof style racks for my 5th gen 4runner
