Baja Rack vs. Gobi Stealth Rack

Yep, It should be pretty close to the stock max height.
I originally just wanted the same rack as the FJ Utility rack but only with about half mesh and half tubing.Sergio said come up with some drawings and send them to him.I didn't care about the moonroof opening as in 20 years of owning moonroofs/sunroofs I never have stuck my head out or used it for anything but letting the sun,moonlight and wind in.So ,my original drawings were all tubing like the FJ's with ~40" long of mesh back behind the moonroof.
But then I talked to Nathan about the idea and we concurred that ,most people would want the opening for the moonroof and the majority of 5ths had it. Also,we were worried about how the moonroof opens upward in the back to vent and if it hit the bars it could crack the moonroof glass . It would have to be made to sit real high to clear and might have looked funny. So Nathan made some drawings and we changed again to what we have now. I like the design but they just have to get the leg heights right. If they want to curve the front,that's fine with me but I hate to ask to change designs this far along. No , I havn't discussed a ladder with them. I can get on the roof of the 4Runner pretty easy by stepping on the rear inner fender inside the passenger door jams. Especially if you put a couple of strips of clear or black anti skid tape there. I guess you could go up thru the moonroof too.

Well, I guess Bajarack just created some new brackets that were adjustable so we could raise the rear of the rack in order to lower the front section. Basically they will take those and create new brackets with the correct heights.
After raising the rear it looks way better, Here are a couple pics. I thought this last week they were gonna send it back down south and add the light tabs and all but I guess they wanted to get the brackets at the correct height first. It makes sense they did it this way, no reason to keep sending it back and forth constantly. I think they have all the info needed now and will finish it up within the next couple weeks. That's not aluminum is it?????? I am assuming it is steel and they are going to paint it like regular Baja racks.

It's Steel and yeah they are gonna have them Powder-coated Black.
