Ball joint style UCAs with 3" lift - Dirt King or SPC?

I'm planning to lift my new TRD Pro, and am looking for a set of UCAs that use ball joints (no uni-balls).

I'm considering UCAs from Dirt King and SPC. I'd like to get some feedback (pros and or cons?) from folks who have experience/recommdations related to these UCAs.

I have the Dirt Kings in the above picture and they have worked great so far. No squeaking or noises whatsoever. I would highly recommend them.

I run SPC. There are some folks who had poor experiences with them years ago on their prior iteration and have sworn them off. There are also a ton of folks who haven't had any issues (myself included). Alignments are better than stock and I am lifted over 3 inches in the front. I would buy them again. Some folks also struggle to find an alignment guy that can adjust the SPC's properly. My Toyota dealership dials them in perfectly and they are ghost quiet.

If I was shopping those I’d consider Dobinsons in on this as well; sealed ball joint with a rubber bushing so no poly bushing noise, uses a gusseted tubular construction like the race arms.

When the time comes to replace the uniball it will be a good time to install the icon delta joint retrofit. If I were to buy now, I'd just buy the icon UCA with delta joint option. Either that or buy a used set of TC or DK UCAs and retrofit the delta joint.

IMO the only issue is keeping the uniball clean from driving around town and trips. Keeping the lower ball joint clean is a real pita. After being out on several work trips this year, I'm falling behind on maintenance and install projects. Along with all the other maintenance I'd rather skip the uniball entirely without using ball joints.

I ran SPC for over a year and they couldn't hold alignment for very long, and the entire design left much to be desired. I would definitely opt for something with grease zerks.

Between the two pics.......it is obvious to me the SPC's are better built and have adjustment you will need to move a larger tire around in the wheelwell.

For what it’s worth, I’ve owned a set of Camburg ball joint arms, which look a lot like the Dirt King arms in the original post, and a set of the standard JBA arms. The JBA’s gave me much better alignment specs and were a nicer product overall.

It's really good to keep hearing good things about JBA off road. My brother had SPC on his Tacoma and the ball joints were trashed after 17k miles. Within seconds of calling SPC they called it abuse and would not stand behind their Chinese product.

IMO JBA hits the mark pretty well. Ball joint + rubber bushings + correct caster built into the jig. And price is pretty good too.

UCA's have relatively small loads on them. No reason to overbuild them. If you want an idea of how strong they should be - look at the stock ones. That's all you need.

would also look into camburg, SOCAL racing outfit that's been around for a longtime, their customer service is on point. TBH pretty much built all the same, it really comes down to the quality of their welders and what not when it comes to choosing, any option you pick will be good.

Have you considered icon UCA's with the delta joint? i went that route bc i didnt want to deal with a squeaky uniball down the line and haven't had any issues over that last 20k miles since installing them

I run the dirt king uppers and lowers on my rig. Very well made and fit perfect.
