Ball joints

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to get the upper ball joints out of my 2008 SR5. I've tried the regular and master ball joint press from autozone and I couldn't get the right configuration for the press and the space available. Is there a Toyota specific press? Any tricks? Thanks for the help.

Not sure, they aren't supposed to be replaced per Toyota, you purchase an entire upper control arm to do so.

If you're unable to find the adapters to do so, you may be out of luck. But there's a plethora of used/mildly used UCA on the forums from members who swap them out.

Check out some youtube videos. I am thinking a three foot cheater bar and some bravery is 2hat might be in order.

But as far as the light used ucas, fj guys upgrade their stuff all the time. I picked up a set for $75 with only 3000 miles on them. So they are out there.

Definitely out there, and the OP is in Colorado, there are plenty of crazy 4Runner/FJ guys up there. All kinds of modded rides from CO!

sawzall helped if i remember correctly...plus some creative work with the ball joint press tools.
