Gotta love rapid prototype machines. My buddy has one and has actually made a few production items with it.

Made a few small modifications to my sliders. First I bent the passenger side slider back down, after it got bent upward slightly. Then I added 2 more legs to each slider for extra strength. Then I added some more drain holes to the diamond plate so the water/snow doesn't accumulate as bad and has a place to drain. Finally I scraped and stripped all the paint off them so I can repaint them with POR-15 this weekend. I will also finally be painting my belly skid at the same time.

How are you going to do the POR15? Spray it or brush it?

I finally got a small project done that has been sitting in the garage for quite a while now. My headlights and corner lights are already black, so the tail lights were the final step to complete the blackout. I installed a set of black Altezza tail lights. I know the Altezza tail lights aren't real popular on this site, but I like them. However, I did customize them slightly.
The only thing that I wasn't too wild about on the Altezza was the light colored border around the perimeter of the lights. I don't know why they didn't make that part black also. Well, I did!
Here's how they look originally, with the weird border.
I decided to tape off the border and paint it black. Taped off:

And finally installed on the truck:
Now all my lights are blacked out.
Love that look! Combined with that awesomely unique Rear bumper, and fantastic front bumper, your rig is definitely one of the most uniquely styled and agressively understated presentations I've ever seen! It reminds me almost like some sort of high-tech armored military vehicle..... Its obviously a labour of Love! Whats next?!?!?!? Can't wait!

Thats what I figured. The reason I ask is because every time I brush paint something I get lines, and grains, and sags, etc . . . I can never get a smooth finish. Youll have to inform me of your methods after you finish it.

Since I did my headlight projector retrofit, my offroad lights don't add any more light than what my headlights provide. So I decided to upgrade my offroad lights to HID. I decided to get the DDM Tuning 55 Watt kit. It should provide quite a bit more light.
Here's a pic of what I got.
Now I just have to get it installed.

So I got the belly skid and my sliders painted with POR-15 this weekend. They came out really nice.
I also rotated my tires while I was waiting for the paint to dry inbetween coats.
Overall, a good weekend.

Did you topcoat the POR15 with some paint? It has no UV protect-ant and will turn brown over time.

I top coated the sliders because they are visible, and they can sit directly in the sun.
I did not top coat the belly skid because it will never see the sun (unless i roll over - haha). And who cares if it turns brownish, its hidden under the truck anyway.

that's funny, i've gotta do the same thing cause my PIAA 520's nor my OEM fogs do anything at all after the retrofit

So a few posts back I talked about making new bumper fog light inserts to go with my square shaped RI LED fog lights. Well I finally got the rapid prototype parts built.
Now I need to epoxy the pieces together, and coat them in fiberglass resin. Then sand smooth and paint. They should look real good when completed.

Finally got these installed the other day. They are super bright. Its nice to have offroad lights that are brighter than my headlights again.

Took my son sledding today. Stopped and took a few quick pics of the truck in the snow. Not too impressive, as this is the most snow we've had all year so far.

Thanks, I wish we had more snow to play around in. As for the light inserts, no I haven't done anything with them yet. I've been so busy with the roof rack build that I've been putting everything else off. I have a few other minor changes I've been wanting to do to the front bumper also, including repainting it. Sometime this spring, I'll take the bumper off and get all the changes done, and repaint it all at once.
