base? SR5? Limited?

I do remember that from the mid '80s and it was a time when there were only a few models of Toyota trucks period and was an easy designation. Most Toyota trucks were 5 speeds back then but then SR5 just became a blanket trim level.

anything else that i would be able to look at the confirm this...

You'd have to actually click the link I gave you to see every option in the SP/SX packages. :awais:

Could you run a VIN Check or do a carfax. It should tell you. Call a local Toyota dealer and have then run you VIN, i have dont that for my Supra. (not to find out if it was a limited.............lol but to get the original window sticker)

Also, the larger painted flares available on the SR5s are not the same as the Limited ones. The Limited flares are attatched to the cladding that runs all down the side of the vehicle. I know that you likely know this Ron, just pointing it out for others to see.

Nice! Another nitpicker like myself. I thought for a while that I was one of the few people that knew this.

01-02 Sport Edition flares are actually a little different than the 01-02 Limited flares. The Limited flares kind of "tied into" the running boards, while the Sport Edition flares kind of curved back in

A friend of mine used to have 2, 1986 Toyota pickups, one was an SR5 and the other wasn't. There was something different with the SR5 that was almost a must have over the regular pickup but I cannot remember for the life of me what it was. I remember when he tried to sell the non SR5 pickup that everyone who looked at it said they didnt want it cause it didnt have something that the SR5 had. I know it was something besides the trim.
If you know or anyone else knows please chime in cause this is gonna bug the shit out of me.

Eter your VIN in Car Fax and you will know for sure what you have. I did the same thing just out of curiosity. And yes you can get at least that info for free.

I remember seeing SRS on some of my parent's older Toyotas, and I think it stood for Safety Restraint System. I think it had something to do with the seat belts and the eventual availability of airbags

Supplemental Restraint System, FYI, meaning airbags

Go to a dealer or car fax and run your VIN that will tell you what you want. Dealer will tell you everything
