Basic alarm install

Hi. Looking to install a basic DEI alarm system on 2007 4runner SR5 which came with only keyless entry (no factory alarm). No remote start at this time. Probably going with Viper or Avital but not set on one yet.

Does anyone know which wires on the alarm system will need to be connected as I know there will be many wires which may not be needed.

if you want to diy this go to Car Alarm, Car Stereo, Mobile Video, and Cruise Control Info for Installers
i usually suggest just get everything from authorize dealer and have them install, the shops mostly provide lifetime warranty to the product and install.

I'm actually going to give this a try on my own for a basic alarm install. I believe I have all the wires down I need except for the door lock/unlock.

There are wires for door lock/unlock and wires for factory arm/disarm for the doors. My vehicle did not come with a factory alarm but my research seems to indicate I should be tying into the factory arm/disarm wires.

Does this sound correct? thanks!
