Battery Isses Failing!

2015 4 runner car battery failed first year and was replaced by dealer. Now I take it for 30k service he said its failing again and will be replaced by warranty. Wonder why two new batterys for 2 year old car.:der:

If I recall the LED inside lights was changed before my battery first failure.... nothing else was done.
wonder if that has to do with it?? but how is that related?:der:

Well, my first rule in troubleshooting a problem is to check my last work before the problem began.

Add to that that it's unusual for a 1 YO battery to go bad, and VERY unusual to happen again. Leads me suspecting the vehicle, not the batteries.

Aside: Just how did this issue manifest? Strikes me as odd that the dealer just up and noticed it.

Did they check the battery and charging system? Either you're routinely discharging the batteries too much (voltage leak perhaps) or the charging system has an issue.

Desert heat shortens battery life considerably, but not that much

I've found a lot of replacement batteries at dealers to be junk. My old powerstroke was eating batteries as well and the dealer was putting in whatever they had on hand. I finally bit the bullet and installed two new Optima yellow tops and I never had battery issues again. Now days I would recommend looking into Northstar batteries or a good AGM of your choice.

True, but easily done. Looking under the filler caps can also show evidence of overcharging, there will be a small amount of sooty deposits.

Too late for OP if the battery is gone.

They replaced it and did not give me a good answer. they say it happens all the time. Sited AZ heat. I guess it should have lasted at least 2 years. Living in AZ the average life of a battery is 2 years.
