Keeps dying, nothing works???

Last night I borrowed the father in laws trailer and when backing it into the driveway I don't think the brake electronically disengaged, so it was workin to back it into the driveway. While trying to back it up my VSC OFF light and VSC TRAC lights as well as check engine I believe came on. Also my turn signals, air conditioner, no cruise, gear indicator light, no outside temp and fan don't work either. Did I blow a fuse somewhere? Also the truck died because the battery would not keep a charge. I was comin home from base and it died comepletely. Something has definately gone wrong. Help PLEASE. thanks

Sounds like a short. They cause all kinds of crazy problems. Disconnect the trailer and see if the problems go away. If they do, then you know the short is in the trailer. Good luck.

Ya trailer is disconnected, and all that stuff still doesn't work. The battery keeps dying. Could it be the altenator?

Under the hood in the fuse box check 140A ALT.
Checked it looks fine, but I can't seem to get it out. Could it be the computer that is out of whack? Why have I lost those things? And why doesn't the battery stay charged?

Half the 4runner DEAD!

Could a wiring harness or backin up a trailer knock out my ac, rear defog, center gauge cluster w/ temp, mileage etc, blinkers gone gear indicator lights gone, cruise light comes on but cruise doesn't work and battery keeps dying? Please help.
thanks

holey quagmire, batman. Have you tried checking your fuses?

I REALLY hope you get this figured out.

Same thread as above.

It sounds like the trailer knocked out a couple of systems.

As indicated in the other thread, check the underhood fuses. Because of the number of systems effected, you have some work ahead of you. Some of the larger fuses are harder to get out than a traditional mini-fuse. Use a pair of needle nosed pliers, it will come out with some persuasion.

IG1 15A fuse was blown in the cab. My bone head move I thought it was ok because my buddy checked them. I decided to go through them all again. I still say the trailer knocked it out.

thanks guys
