Battery light on??? Please Help!!!

Yesterday on my way home my 4Runner shuts down. I thought it was the battery so I went and bought other one. Installed new one, battery light still on. Tried to make it to work and the 4Runner shuts off again, so now I'm thinking alternator. Changed the alternator, battery light still on. Took the 4Runner to have Advance check it, no readings from the alternator. Took out alternator and tested both alternators, both are good. Now I'm lost. Someone suggested voltage alternator. Please help!!!

Check your battery connections as well as the battery cable from the positive battery post to the back of the alternator.

What is the battery reading with the 4runner running?

There is no way you can't make it to work (unless you live in another state) on a new battery even with no alternator in the car. So I'm going with cable connections/terminals or a ground somewhere. Check battery to fender ground and the one on the engine near the diagnostic plug.

What is the battery reading with the 4runner running?

The battery read 749 cranking amps on the tester. Don't know how to use a voltage meter so i don't know that part.

Check all the thermal fuses inside the main fuse box. These read like 40A 60 A and 100 A if I am remember right.

I second the Durk...poor connection or ground somewhere...the alternator has a ground. run a test lead from the alternator ground to a body ground and see if it turns it off...If so, the ground for the alternator is broken somewhere or corroded
