Battery problem?

Okay, i drive a '97 T4R V6 3.4L. It hasn't been a problem lately but it just happened few weeks ago. After i turn off my car which it's parked at my house, i pull out my keys from the ignition and somehow, my battery was turned off? Usually my cd decks would have a beep saying to take out my headunit face, but battery was turned off? I press my unlock button and doesn't work either? Not sure why it does that but on the road, it doesn't turn off or anything. Igniting the car on seems fine.

My battery has battery acid on the negative so you think it's time for a new battery? Don't know how i could tell if i do need a new battery. Or could it because i have too much lights in my car? I have 2 neon light, nozzle light, and 2 LEDs. that's about it?

how old is the battery? i'd test it, if its corroding, time for a new battery. it probably has enough charge to start the car, and while the car is on, the alternator charges the battery. though the corrosion, its definitely time for a new battery..

I have been cleaning it though. I used warm water with baking soda and it washed off all the battery acid pretty good. But it kept coming back? Not really sure how old is it. Bought the car new in '97. And dad gave the car to me about 2-3 years ago.

since it keeps corroding.. replace it. its probably just too old. hopefully thats your only problem. don't let it keep corroding. the battery acid will eat through the metal if it gets that bad. you could test it beforehand. but i'd replace it, and hopefully that takes care of the problem.

thanks alot guys. i'll check tomorrow if the battery is pretty old or not. since it's Christmas today so no one is open. hopefully it's my battery though. happy holidays! i'll let you guys know what's the results..

Went to O'Reilly Autoshop this morning. They checked my battery. Charged up 94% but only 400 cranking power. Which my battery was suppose to be 640. Not sure why i lost power but i went ahead and cleaned my negative battery very nicely again. Hope it doesn't happen again. If it still does it again, then it's not the battery.
