battery question.

hey guys, i'm wondering if the battery i bought is good enough for the runner, it's an odd size (group 47) and has never been mentioned anywhere in regards t our trucks, the physical size of the battery is about 1~3 inches smaller than the stock one but seems to have much higher ratings all the way around....


maybe I'm over thinking this but it doesn't make sense to me how that works, smaller plates in the battery case means less room for electrical charge,capacitance...it just feels like since the battery itself is smaller i'm missing out on something.....

I think I run a group 27 with 700CCA but could be 750, I paid $60 for it after coupons and it was definetley worth it. It's an advance auto gold battery.

It's made by East Penn Manufacturing. They also make the Deka brand batteries. FWIW, I've heard mostly good things about East Penn batteries.

I don't know the all there is to know about batteries by any means, but judging by outside dimensions would be tough. I imagine there are some batteries with wasted space to use the same size plates etc, but fit another group of vehicles with out adapters and such.

Personally if my main battery died today, I would go pick up another Die Hard Platinum for starting duty to match the one I have for my fridge. I run that thing down once in a while when I park the 4Runner to drive the other car and forget the fridge is plugged in. Still charges right back up every time so far. That is even with my less than ideal battery charging solution.

The Diehard Platinum is made by Enersys, the same company that makes the Odyssey line of batteries. The Diehard Platinum is the exact same construction as the Odyssey batteries, except for the color of the case.

They are excellent batteries.

Deka are middle grade batteries...not the best, but definitely not the worst. My Maliba wakeboard boat came stock with two of them. They served me well for 3 seasons.
