Battery recommendations

Need to replace my battery. I got 72k on my 01' SR5 and was thinking of the Optima line. Any suggestions?

optima yellowtop if you have a lot of electronic accesories, but the optima redtop if you need just a great replacement battery

Optima

Rumor says that there are fitment problems with these batteries. Is that true? Is there a yellow top 4Runner specific? I plan to get one tomorrow. If anyone has the exact model or item#, that would make it easier for me to reference when I get there. Thanks!

ill go check my car tonight and let you know the model number ( i have the yellow top by the way ) I watched an entire DVD with my audio on high volume and still had enough juice to fire up the motor without a problem!!!

Perfect. I have a drop down mobile video unit with a newly installed tv tuner. For instance, deciding not to go into the store and just wait outside, the kids and I watch t.v. or a DVD, but we have the car running. Waste of gas eh? So this is what I heard with the Optimas. Plenty of juice to do whatever you want and still have the cranking power.

Please let me know what model# is. That would be a great help. Also let me know if any modifications needed ie: battery tray, longer cable etc.

You'll need some type of spacer to go between the battery and hold down I believe... I've known plenty of people with yellow tops who have shorted out their electrical system or broken direct battery connections to aftermarket accessorier (ie: subwoofer).

you will not need spacers if you get the correct battery. they make different sizes. for my 2002 sport edition 4runner the D34 (yellowtop battery) fits just fine. however, if you get one of the larger or smaller ones, you may need special fitment pieces.

its real simple. get a measuring tape, measure your stock battery, then go to optimas website and check the specs on the different batteries and choose the one that is the same measurements as yours. DONE!
