Battery Tie Down: Help!

I've been searching everywhere for a battery tie down for my 99 4runner. Mine unfortunately did not come with the oem tie down.

Is it so much to ask for to find a simple battery tie down for a 3.4 v6 4runner on the internet???

Actually what I really need to find and also can't is a clear picture of one so that I can compare it to a couple that I found to be applicable for a 2nd gen 4runner.

Anyone have a pic of their oem tie down? (installed or not so that I can see the length and bends in it.

Know where to buy one?

Theirs like 1 on ebay and it's for a 2nd gen....

Hence, this thread.....

time to get your hands dirty man, go the the pull apart/junk yard near you and get an oem one, other wise anything you find is going to take a little work to get in there, hell even the gay ones from the flaps will work you just have to remove the battery tray first to install them, or just use some duct tape lol /j/k don't do that..seriously it may take a day of driving and calling around but you should be able to find one local @ a junk yard

I got the same problem. Kinda. I bought a battery that didnt exactly fit. Was shorter than the stock size battery. When i tighten the b mount all the way the battery still has play room. I had a V shaped metal fitting. Put it on the battery and tightened the battery mount down onto it. Covered it in duck tape just in case LOL. :headslap:

I`m not proud. :roadkill:

I am buying a custom battery box for my 98. So will have the factory bracket available. I would assume they are the same.

I haven't had a stock sized battery (or stock battery tie-down, for that matter) in most of my trucks for about a decade.

Just improvise. Drill a couple holes in a piece of angle iron, wedge a piece of wood under the tie-down, whatever it takes. Really the only thing that matters is that the battery stays put.
