Battery Warmer Blanket / Oil Pan Heating Pad

~10° F this morning has made me consider investing in a battery warmer and oil pan heating pad.

What are your thoughts on this one sold by Amazon?:

Just as cold here in Denver, my tranny / torque converter have been acting funny, but has never been an issue in the past.

I have a remote start system, and just let it warm up.

Yes, that type of battery blanket works well. Very commonly used.

Some people use the orange hot pad that goes under the battery but you have to be careful about wattage with that style. Can overcook the battery.

Instead of an oil pan heater, you should consider the block heater first - if you don't have it already. The one Toyota sells is very good quality, better than a lot of the other options available. On the 3rz they are quite easy to install, but it does require draining the coolant and pulling out a frost plug in the block. I don't know how difficult it would be in the V6. Depends on access.

Yeah, I always let it warm up for at least 5 minutes when the temp is below 20.

Perfect timing....im going to install a Wolverine heating pad to the oil pan on one of my vehicles....the old girl just got kicked out into the cold. With 290k...cold mornings are hard for her....saw -10 last night....but normally we are in the low teens. My research says they work....only pad style I have seen were on heavy truck fuel tanks....they worked....but were a lot larger area of the tank covered to apply heat.
