what time are we looking to meet up in hollister? or if there is someone i can meet off 101 somewhere on the way down. seeing as i don't really know where to go it might be a good thing. also is there an address to this place or is it jsut a park? i have tom tom but not sure if it will pick up the spot to navigate too.

78000 cienega road Hollister CA

We check in at the ATV gate, get a pass for $5 and a code for the lock on the OHV gate.

We make a uturn, leave that gate, make a right and less than a mile down the road, we enter the gate for the OHV park.

The park is not "wilderness", don't think of it as in the middle of nowhere.

hey guys. i just moved up to the bay area this year for school. i havent ever taken my rig offroad before...except some fun in the snow when i went to tahoe a year or two ago. i was wondering though, if anyone would let me come along in a ride along to experience the off road experience to gain some confidence in myself to take my rig off road. anyone willing to let me sit shotgun?

WOW! WTF, I've never seen the park closed and according to the calendar Jamie posted (I confirmed by phone) almost every weekend until mid to late May is booked up with some sort of private event...

:bash:

Looks like back to the drawing board, I don't want to be responsible for not getting the group out, but Saturdays are a no-go for me - my wife works and I got 2 kids to look after. Maybe we transfer this group to the mid-week Sierra trip that Jamie posted? Does ANYONE know of other trails that can be done in a day trip that we can hit up in leu of the park closure?

Keep the enthusiasm alive, I'm sure we'll find a place.

4reak, you can ride shotgun with me if you want, but I highly suggest you bring your rig and get the experience behind the wheel - we won't be doing anything terribly crazy :D

i just called too and it sounds like alot of closures, well the weekend of april 3-5 is open (there are events going on but not a full closure)

is anyone down for a midweek trip? there hasnt been alot of trips going on with this forum so i think we should strike while the irons hot, the sierras sound cool but how far away from the bay area are we talking?

i will be racing on the 21st at sacramento raceway and on the 28th ill be getting more tattoo work done up in santa rosa. so those saturdays are out for me. :(

I'm open for a midweek trip.

i'm new and would love to meet up with some 4runner owners and take my rig offroad.

on another note:
there was an owner with a 3rd gen stuck behind me at a light in daly city. (mission exit)

wondering if maybe your on this board.
it looks like you had done clear turn signal lights and was checking out my truck.

Hey thanks for the offer. I do want to get my rig out there, but wouldnt really know what i am doing. i know very little about shifting and i can only read so many articles, i think i really just need to be in a rig that is off road and then i can see what its like...before i go tear it up. ;) besides, if i ride with you for my first time, that means we can have a second trip and my rig can come out to play too! :D
