Beast gets stoned. Rock in the Brakes

Driving into town today heard a screeching sound timed with the tire rotating slow less fast more. metal on metal. pulled over and looked all over could not see anything. I called our local Toyota dealer and they could not take it til Sunday.

Drove to a friends house and he recommended Johnsons Tires (bought the Hakka's there). Anyway they put it up disasemble the brake left side all good bearing looks solid nothing loose so they put it back together, sound repeats.

They hit a speed bump and sound is gone! Test drove it no more sound. Drove it home 14 miles no sound

They say a rock was caught between the rotor and the pressure plate.

Your thoughts?

without a doubt that could be very plausible.... happen to me when I had a jetta and you can usually see a little mark on the rotor itself. Sounds like your good now so no worries

Happens to me off roading a lot. Going through rocky mud ill come out and hear this god awful screech. But that ya those rocks get caught in between the shield and rotor. I'd say thats what it was 100%

Happened to me once. I still have the polished rock.

Happens to me often when wheeling, usually just braking while in reverse will get it out of there. But yeah, that is one annoying sound.

Totally common on the back roads up here. The roads are goopy clay and they dump gravel on them so when things get slick the clay and gravel mix and get everywhere. In fact last week my buddy had to remove his caliper because we could not get the rock out any other way.
