i go on logging roads quite often and had lots of rock chips along the bottom of the body of my truck, so i figured i should throw some bed liner on it.

i used tumbler paintable rubberized undercoating. picked it up at princess auto for farely cheap i think about $25. and its not to thick, not much more then regular paint.

Any complaints? I used similar stuff for my first gen pick-up and i was not entirely impressed. It was rustoleum brand, and it was like thick paint with a grainy material. Still looks nice though.

dont mean to rain on your parade but rubberized is going to melt and weep in the sun.

There are dudes here in the NW that use bed liner on their bodies with no issues. Might be the climate and the type of bed liner they use.

I don't know if they use rubberized type though.

i have a complete bed liner 4runner i know the real bedliner that drys hard will last and stand up to a lot of sun and beating.

rubberized undercoat is for the underside of a vehicle its meant to take the impact of small stones from the tires and deaden road noise.

i will never use rubberized on surfaces that i step on or use cargo or are in direct sun light. just keep in mind that the rubberized never drys totally and will always be flexible bed liner is solid and very resilient .

i did it once and even in the winter the dang stuff was sticky and utterly useless for protection
