Whatup guys. Ive been lurking here for a while. I finally joined the other day hoping to get a little info. I have 5 toyotas in the yard as of now. 4 4runners and a pickup. I mainly build first gen 4runners, but i have a 96 4runner that is in need of some TLC. It has the 3.4 with the 5spd. Its been a DD since 01 when i purchased it. It currently has around 263k on the ticker. The suspension on it is pretty much shot on it all around. Ive always wanted to lift it a little bit. Ive done some research here on the board and went ahead and ordered the toyotec ultimate lift and a 1" RB body lift. Im hoping to clear a 33x12.50x17 (or the metric 33). Nothing too extreme. I just want it to look a little better than its current state. Im pretty much set on a 17x9 wheel. Hopefully i can make this combo work. Ive searched most of the 3rd gen stuff on here and found a few 4runners that really appeal to me. I like the look of the deeper dish wheels as well. I dont really like the "flush" look. Any thoughts of my decisions so far would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome! Looks like you did your research and made some good decisions. You might want to look into a 285/70/17 because the 12.50 will rub a lot more than the 285's. It might be fine with the 1" body lift, but it also depends on the backspacing of the wheel you are trying to get. Welcome! Sounds like you've got a great start on your build.
well i got the rear coils and shocks on the rear and the coilovers and new brakes on the front. I gained exactly 2.5 inches of lift out of the ultimate lift kit. They were setup just right from toyotec. i didnt have to adjust the coilovers at all. I was suprised at how easy it all was to install. I just have to find the time now to finish the 1" BL. Hopefully that wont bring TOO much suck. Im still waiting on the wheels. I called a couple of days ago and they said it would be 4-6 more weeks. FML....
got the ultimate kit on. still got to get the 1" BL on along with the new muffler. It no big hurry tho, due to the fact that my wheels are still on effin backorder. fml

well i finally get the wheels in, just to open the first box to find a bent wheel. I opened the other three and one other was bent and the other two looked like they come out of the scratch and dent section. 
I called the dealer and told them of the problem. they said would take care of the issue and arrange for UPS to pick up the wheels and ship them back. I come home the next day to find the wheels still sitting on the porch, so i called them and asked them WTF the deal was. They told me that now they want me to send them pics of the damage via email. I unpack all 4 wheels, take the pics and repack them again. I kinda felt like they didnt believe the wheels were damaged when they arrived. I told the guy on the phone, that we wouldnt be having this conversation rite now if they wernt damaged and that wheels would be on the truck. Needless to say, i sent the pics of the damaged wheels and i will call monday to find out what they have to say. I sure hope it gets resolved quickly beings ive been waiting since June. rant over.

I sure hope it gets resolved quickly beings ive been waiting since June. rant over.I FINALLY got the replacement set of wheels in, and mounted the new shoes on them and got them on the runner. I also ended up ordering a set of 891 rear coils and replacing the 2" 906 coils that I originally ordered to get the rear sitting level with the front. I didnt install the 1" BL because i like the ride height like it is, but might end up installing it in the near future due to the fact the drivers side tire rubs the inner fender a little bit when backing up and turning sharp to the left. I just got the new poly bushing kit in yesterday and will be installing it this week. Hopefully that will tighten everything back up like it suppose to be, since the thing feels like its all over the road rite now with the worn out stock ones.
