Beep Question

i took the 4R on the beach for the first time today (island beach state park, NJ)...it handled perfectly by the way. anyway, I'm following the tracks of other trucks and attemt to cross to go into another set of tracks and i end up going over a decent sized bump, and when i came down i hit bottom, not a total botom out, but a graze nonetheless...When this happened there was a beep that came from the dash. This happened once more later and again, a little beep...

Is this the truck letting me know i hit? I checked underneath later and no visible damage but was curious about the beep. :bash:

nah, no fish, I really just went out to take the dog and try the truck on the beach...I just got the permit wednesday.

I'm almost positive it was a warning beep but i wanted to see if it was anything serious...it sounded like the beep when we lock and unlock the doors...?

looking in the manual as we speak but haven't seen anything yet.

The beep was probably your VSC triggering on. Whenever the truck senses that you are losing control, the VSC will kick in and there will be an annoying beep coming from your dashboard to alert you. Nothing to worry about at all.

I am from NJ, what town is that beach in? I was looking for a place to take my truck!

thanks for the info Mark...Island Beach State Park is a barrier island south of seaside park...Parkway Exit 82, follow rt 37 east until you reach the bridge over the bay, and then follow the beach south, it's at the furthest point south you can go (not very far from the bridge). Great place if you like to fish, and technically the permit required to drive on the beach is a sportfishing permit, but if i'm not fishing i'll just bring a pole as a formality. There are other beaches like Brick beach and normandy where you can get a permit on the cheap too. Those beaches are north of the bridge . Island Beach is $195 for the year so unless your gonna go often, the others are a better bet. :bigok:

Reviving this thread as I've recently begun to experience the same. 2013 4R Trail Edition. Bilsteins on all 4 corners. Just this week, when I hit a speed bump, pothole, etc, I get a single chime -- it sounds exactly like the first chime of the seat belt alarm -- but just one short (< 0.5 sec) beep. I've had the bilsteins on for a year and never had this issue. No VSC light activation on the dash. Did anyone find an answer / solution here?

You might have better luck in the 5th gen section, no offense meant by that

Holy 11 year bump!!!

Yeah, I agree with the rest, it's more than likely the VSC activating. Dashlight normally comes on briefly when activated, but it was probably wasn't enough to light up.
