Began with a lit CEL. Previously ran great, so here is her History.
Started running rough, so a guy said EGR. Pull F1 fuse wait 1 hour. while went
by til eBay EGR assembly got here. After installed it, ran REAL RUFF for 2 days local driveing, hopeing would clear up/relearn. No CEL. I tried pulling negative battery cable off for a few hours, but when I tried to crank her, I heard a beeeeeping, exterior lights were flashing andI had a No Crank condition. I checked the battery after disconnecting the neg,had 12.1V.
Re-tryed with same results. I do not have an alarm in it as far as I know.
HELP! Now what is wrong? Am trickle recharging and need advice.

The low battery voltage could be making it run bad, but why is it suddenly low?
Was everything reconnected properly after installing new EGR?
Does it run OK with a good battery (if you've tried that)?

Ok, I'd like to do the Onboard, but need instructions on that. Nothing happens now , but tomorrow the battery should be up, so I will be needing that info. I did not change out the lower egr tube, was that a mistake? It seemed a little hard to get to,I do have the new one, just a pipe? My top pipe just had some tiny burnt oil flakes. I now remember it had a smell something like burnt sulfer matches.

connecting the battery now results in a beep....beep...beep...ing, parking lights flashing, and
turn the key on the dash lites do come on, but nothing happens when rotated to "start".
No CEL on. Yes, it would be nice if it would start so I could get "codes". Please advice.

Thanks - for some help guys!

Today with charged battery, I put the key to the run/on position and attached the negative cable. NO flashing or beeeeping, YAH! Then I checked voltage it was 12.6v. Then I turned key off, then attempted start-up. YAY, she started, but the ruff run/idle condition is still there. No CEL lite. Moved her up under the carport. Hot & Sunny still here in Florida. I will need the "how-to" on the onboard diagnostic system .

Toyota OBD Trouble Codes ?

running poorly after egr replaced.

No, battery is fully charged up. It is just running poorly. The egr bellows moves, I tested that. When I pull the vacumn line from the metal valve top,the engine smoothes out. The EGR came guaranteed, and the two pipes looked excellent. My old onesappeared charded somewhat tho. When I disconnect the Electrical plug tp egr, nothing changeslike when the vac line is pulled. I am not getting any codes doing the OBD. CEL is not lit,but when key
is inserted and turned to on, the CEL appears until I start the engine.

Idle "surges". Looks like the tiny egr lookin thing on FW side of throttle body is pushing the throttle. I can remove the EGR vacumn line and the engine smoothes out.

I drove it running ruff one mile and on returning CEL came on. Got her home and jumpered the diagnostic box next to main power box TE1 & E1. turned key on, got 3 blinks then 1 blink, waited, same again. Air Fow Sensor? Where is that?
Is this just a symtom or the cause? No other OBD codes.

No CEL, but still badly surging and running poor. Back to square 1.

At least the Flashing lights and beeping is solved as just a low Battery.

Hope not to have to start a new thread on current problem of this vaccumn - bad running
drivability issue, so anyone please advise.

JUST replaced wires, distributor cap, and Rotor, then sprayed CRC throttle body spray and tooth brushed on the butterfly and internal orifaces.

Still runs same....LIKE CRAP! Idle surging, irradic. Mid range gets smooth. NO electrical arc jumping. (lights out in the dark garage)

Drove it normal 5 miles, and no change. Very good oil pressure - water temperature.

Do I need a new ECU?

Is there NO HELP HERE?????????????

I'm no tech, but I can at least read. Looking at a Haynes 92076 illustration 11.1b
I was hopeing to find a throttle body. I might think it has a valve or idle speed motor or something I might adjust or clean to get my rig purring, as this manual does not have my
3.0 3vze TB. It has a note on page 4-16 that the 1993-4 3.0L v-6's ARE equiped with an air valve, but you have to have this system checked by a DSD (Dealer service department) in event of a failure. I called the local Stealer and he quote 1K. But he did not know anything, that a SM tech only knows? Am I on the right road guys?
