I couldn't find the answer I am looking for. The threads that I saw al pertained to HIDs. I'm installing a headlight flasher (wig-wags) on the 98 SR5. I am just wondering if anyone knows off hand if I need a negative switched flasher or a positive switched flasher.

Added front end warning. I do private security work part time and once in a while I use my vehicle. Since I am not going to put a spot light on my door post and I like to keep my vehicle looking "normal" headlight flashers can't be seen until I need them.

It seems Whelen makes one that works on both + and - switching headlights. Maybe go this route? I get the concept and why you need it but have no clue how it wires up or anything. Good luck.

Since you're going to be using these with HID's, these will make the life of your ballast and bulb much shorter. Thought you should know.

And yes, they are ground side switching.

Why bother putting in wig-wags when you could just put in one of these units especially if its not something you'll use all the time. Lots of our volunteer fire dept guys run similar lights...

True for the OP and all non-DRL 3rd gens. But the '00 and up US (and all Canadian) trucks that have DRL are positive-switched.
