Beginner Mistake

So I was cleaning my T4R Sport for the first time and like many places suggested cleaned the wheels first. I sprayed Griot's Garage Wheel Cleaner 35 on each wheel to let it set for a minute. On the instructions it says not to let the product dry on the surface of the wheel. I got distracted and didn't anticipate how long each wheel would take me to clean (should have sprayed one at a time). By the time I got to the last wheel one spoke had some light white spray/streak marks. I thought it was just the dried cleaner or water spots but to my dismay it did not rub off. So....

What can I do to remove the streaks/spot marks? I have Klasse polish and sealant. Will that work? What made the marks? I hope I didn't ruin the finish on the wheel. :bash:

I would tend to lean towards the finnish is gonna be blemished for good. I have the same wheels and I NEVER have to use anything on them except the foam soap brush at the DIY car wash! They are so nice the dirt and grime just falls off! I would throw that stuff away shouldn't need it....chalk it up to :happens:

Griot's Garage is a great company. Give them a call and tell them what happened. See what they suggest. They tend to know their products fairly well.

I dont know what is in the cleaners you used but the Toyota wheels have a clear coat on them so you don't clean them like an ordinary aluminum wheel. Hopefully all that has happened is that the cleaner attacked the clear coat. You may be able to sand out the blemish and just shoot that spot with new clearcoat.

Or you can get those sanded and powder-coated black, then call it Mod.

Griot's Garage is a great company. Give them a call and tell them what happened. See what they suggest. They tend to know their products fairly well.

+1 - Groits is a quality supplier and I would certainly not throw it away. Give them a call and see what they say. I would also try to clay bar the wheel or try your Klasse by hand. If it wont come out completely I would think most of it will disappear.
