Belt Squeek!!

I got a squeeky belt on start up. Its coming from the power steering pump and completely goes away when I spray it with water. It's also intermittent though, so it'll squeek for a little and stop, then come back. Is this the pump or the belt? I was under the impression that if you spray it with water and it goes away that the belt is misaligned or something..

One morning, before you drive it, remove the belt and see how the power steering pump pulley rotates by hand. Make sure it moves freely and doesn't feel gritty. While you're in there, do the same for the other pulleys because sometimes it's really hard to tell where the sound is coming from under the hood.

it's your belt. replace it and you should be fine. fdbyrne is right too, your pulleys might be on its way out.

do you know when you last changed it?
