belt squeeling cant get rid of it

I would get a different belt. What brand is it. I run AC delco with no problems. Definitely loosen the tension on that belt. You are going to damage the accessory bearing if you tighten it too much. I would refer to the Chiltons manual for the proper deflection on belts. Try a little original armoral on the belt.
I will try a new belt the werid thing is it worked fine on the old altanator its just that the bearings is going out on that one so i wanted to pull it and replace them before useing it again. The altanator is for a 2.7 but its the same expect the plugs are in diff spots so i dont see that begin a problem and im running a 3.4 altanator on my 2.7 with no issues at all so i will try and get a new belt and see if it fixes it or maybe run a candel on it i heard that will stop squeek as well.

Belt should have some deflection in it. I forget the order of them on the crank pulley but is the alternator the front belt or did you have to remove any of the others to get it off? The tensioner on the PS belt is a real MF-er.

Make sure there's 1/4" deflection on the smaller belts, and 1/2" deflection on the Alt belt.

Mine started squealing a few weeks ago. Original bearings and alternator. 118K miles. The belt has about 4K on it and I use the Dayco Poly Rib Poly-Rib from ADV Auto. The belt looks fine and I am starting to think one of the idler/tensioner is going bad. Anyone have an experiences with this situation?
