Best brakes for 2003 4runner sr5 v8?

Im the 2nd owner, 118k miles, rear pads are getting low so I mind as well do a complete rotor/pad job on her. Am I good with Autozone Gold rotors/pads or should I go OEM? Thanks buds.

You can go with centric rotors and pads from rockauto. If lifetime warranty with autozone, that's just as good.

If you want OEM stopping ability and feel either go with centric rotors and a nice pad of your choice, or OEM its actually not that expensive.

However if you want an upgraded stopping ability and feel i would suggest going with either powerstop or stoptech pads and rotors. i have the powerstop rotors and now their Z36 heavy duty pads (to help with the 35s). i love them, stop amazing, dont fade over time, i can lock my 35s up with no issue if i wanted to. i previously had the Z23 pads on it and those were amazing until i went to the 35s, however if youre stock or have up to 33s its what i would go with. im actually going to put either 3rd gen 4runner calipers or 1st gen tundras on my first gen just so i can get power stop pads on it.

I have been using either akebono or EBC pads and have been very happy with them. I'm also running 5th gen refurb calipers with crossed drilled rotors and have been pretty happy

I pulled the trigger on the Centric kit, thanks for the help!

Just got done putting the Centric kit in, they're great quality and the stopping power is great. Thanks for the recommendation.

Only problem I ran into is with the cheap Auto Zone brake spreader-tool broke on me :ybrick: so I had to run down and get a C-clamp to compress calipers. Lesson learned on that POS tool.
