Best bumper for the money?

Looking for all opinions on a good, tough steel bumper. My dream is to have an ARB, but Im not swimming in cash yet.

I'd love either tubed or plated. I just dont want to unnecessarily spend money on a big name bumper when there are cheaper alternatives that perform just as well. I really like the one in your sig, btw.

if you like the look of the ARB, i think you are going to be disappointed, as ARB is one of the cheapest out there in price for what you get. sure you can find other plate bumpers but most good ones are in the $900+ range... just hold off and save up for what you want. i know its hard to do, but in the end you will be happy

IMHO, if you want to get something that is strong, and that you have a say in the design, you will have to get a custom bumper, and they aint cheap.

Ive had the Armorology Armorology Customer Support Web and the Demello Demello Offroad both look great IMO, but the Armorology is by far the strongest, tuffest bumper ive seen.

I have seen in person, other than the two list, Rockware, shrockworks, ARB, TJM, Irbis, Outdoor Logic, and Addicted offroad, and my first choice is Armorology, 2nd is Irbis (not sure if they are still making them) then Addicted Offroad (tubed)

A custom bumper is LOTS more than an a "off the shelf" bumper like the arb tjm etc etc but only say ouch once lol

With a " I'm buying today attitude" walk into a local fab shop with cash in hand & photos of what you like. My shipping cost where $155, which you save on a local purchase. Negotiate the install and your further ahead. Something to consider........

You can usually get an ARB for $800 shipped. That's about the cheapest out there except for some tube bumpers. ARB sells a lot of bumpers so volume works for them (and us).

im not trying to knock AO or any other tube bumper, but when the OP says he was looking at ARBs and likes their looks, im pretty sure he wants a plate bumper, yeah for $7-900 you can have the top of the line tube bumper, and for $4-600 you can have a great tube bumper vs the $1500+ for top of the line plate(ie Armorology) and $7-900 good plate (ARB), but then again look at what you are getting, a factory looking(ie hides all the unfinished body panels and more protection/coverage) vs the minimalist(ie less weight ,better angles, less invasive ect) of the tube, and lets not forget how much steel and craftsmanship goes into these things... yeah plate bumpers are always going to cost more, its just how it is. i think the AO bumper is a great bumper, but not really what the OP is looking for, just my thoughts

I dont want to get too crazy with mods because my truck will be 80% street.

My 2000 4Runner is currently 100% street as I have a 85' 4Runner that gets abused offroad. I have the 4xinnovations plate bumper and I think it looks great on my stock 4Runner. I don't think you can a better quality of bumper for the price.

Well you need to open your eyes and read. Second post he asked do you want tube or plate.Then he replied saying he does not know which he wants.

So dont come in here with your comments about my post when Im just trying to help him save money. He said he didnt know what he wants. The AO bumber protects just as much as any plate, I dont care what you say. So go give your thoughts to someone that cares.
