Anyone with a car cover for their 5th Gen, which brand/company did you choose and are you happy with it? I just moved somewhere where I have to park outside and unfortunately most of the parking has trees hanging over the parking spots. Thanks.

I just purchased a Covercraft NOAH car cover for the 5th gen. It's custom fit to the 5th gen body style, made in USA and is rated for many different types of storage situations, including outside storage. I got mine from auto anything but autogeek has them too....buy something cheap and then wait for the 25% off coupon!

Can't speak specifically for the 4Runner, but from my understanding car covers do more damage than they prevent when used with high frequency.

If you were storing something for the winter or whatever it may be smart to use, but the repeated on/off will end up wearing on your paint much worse than the normal day to day elements.

My advice, get a good wax and stay on top of your "maintenance".

I have used the Noah fabric car covers from "California car cover". The trick is NOT to put them on a dirty car. Dust grime and bird doo will act like sand paper. Outside they last about two to three years depending on the weather and how many cats are in your neighborhood.
They get rather heavy when wet from rain. you don't want to put it in the truck when wet. They dry quickly but don't wring them out. Put back on the truck to dry. In California that should be the next day. Also consider the height of the truck and the difficulty of covering and uncovering. this may get old real quick.
What ever fabric you decide on consider a car duster to use prior to installing the cover.
