So after recently getting my 4runner I noticed that when I used the parking brake...well it didn't work. So I decided to adjust the shoes since over time the shoes do get worn...even if it does take forever, which helped, but it wasn't 100% So then I had to adjust the foot lever so it didn't go to the floor and also remembering that the cable will stretch over time. I learned that the foot lever does not change the emergency brake catch point at all, it only moves the engagement point when pushing on the lever.
Here is the work I did, I hope it helps anyone else that has a bad parking brake.
