Here's what's going in my rig. Velcro mounted RTI interface with kydex holster. I plan to mount it roughly the same location as in the demo pics in the link.
I'd add a picture, but cannot seem to make the system work. :tsk: Second post on the board after all.
One drawback: it's been almost seven weeks on order, with regular email updates from the company, but no instant gratification.
Perfect place to holster? Probably not. Solution seems best for me and my perceived needs.:deadhorse:

jrob, sorry for derailing the thread. I don't know much of anything about 4wd trucks and interior mods, and I'm here to learn. I was just trying to impart some experience in something I do know a little about. No gun fanatic here, just someone that wants the good guys with guns to be victorious against the bad guys with guns. Have a good day bro.

This Satechi CD slot-mounted phone holder is a less robust alternative to a Ram Mount. I've got a question about the RAM mounts. Has anyone found a different way to mount it to the vehicle besides the self tapping screws into the factory plastic on the passenger side? I'm not opposed to screwing it into the vehicle, but I'd like to explore different options. I appreciate any feedback anyone can provide.

They make a cupholder mount version for the RAM products, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna let anyone take my cupholders. Not on my watch.

St1fler, Thanks for your thoughtful response. True about IWB. My favorite EDC holster is my Glock sport combat. For long drives and or trips involving frequent stops, I still prefer the lumbar pack situated below the belly (don’t have to remember to check that I am concealed when getting in and out of the 4R in the summer time wearing a t-shirt; no printing or ride up issues).

My experience and that of others that I work with has been that some people choose not to get training in the civilian use of a handgun as a self-defense tool because they think they know all they need to know about it. When people attempt to be helpful or imply they might benefit from additional instruction/suggestions, they get defensive and hostile. Unfortunately, those who haven’t the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to safely possess/carry/use a personal protection handgun can end up, through fear, ego, ignorance and/or negligence, harming themselves or innocents.

This is what I used:
RAM POD I Universal No-Drill(TM) Vehicle Laptop Mount with 18"" Rigid Aluminum Rod & Single Socket Arm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006ZOW1U2/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_5v6pwbHGAR5S5
You'll need to make a couple of modifications. I have it mounted to my inboard passenger seat forward bolt. To get it to fit there I had to saw off part of the oblong mount foot. Other than that it works great out of the box. Keep in mind you'll need a vice or something similar to bend the aluminum rod to get the top in position.

I just got set up on the forum as a vendor and am glad to see the 4Runner organizer has been found. The Gen 4 console organizer is coming soon too. I wanted to pass along the current Amazon promo in my signature. These are very popular with the Tacoma and Tundra crowd. Hope they serve the purpose here too!
Oh yea, you're here. Now we can address the need for a glove box organizer. Tried to make the one from my 2nd gen Tacoma fit, but wasn't working out too well.

Can you post a pic? I thought I looked at that a while back and Toyota put in a shelf and a couple other little storage things from the factory.

There's a little tiny little shelf that's not really big enough to hold anything in the back, right corner, but that's all I've seen. Unless my box is missing something.
