Best Engine Analyzer for 4Runner

What is the best value engine analyzer to buy for a 1999 4Runner. I think I want one that can record live data, not just codes and reset functionality. Reviews from Amazon are hard to make sense of so thought I would ask here if anyone has had good success with any particular products for Toyotas. Thanks.

Damn you got zero love on this thread. Did you ever pick one up? I have an '01 that has some minor bumps and surges from time to time and wanted to look into it further with an analyzer.

I use an Elm 327 bluetooth adapter with my HTC Evo 4g running the torque app available from the android marketplace. Does a pretty decent job letting me know what's going on.

Just get something from sears in the 200 dollar range, I dont work for toyota but I was a tech for bmw and even though there are products like gt1, sk40 blah blah that are in the 5-8k dollar range, you wont need all the extra stuff unless u run a shop and will randomly use the other features. 95% of problems u dont even need all that, these are almost too easy to work on.

Scan gauge is the only one that will read third gen transmission temps

Just bought my ScanguageII yesterday on Amazon....I'm pumped! From what I read a lot of guys on here run the Scanguage...theres even a thread of where guys have mounted them...

For quick check I have a cheap basic matco scan tool, for actual tuning I go between an Innovate OT-1 (and extras) and an auto enginuity set up. I like the Innovate for tuning aftermarket ECU's but if you are staying stock the auto enginuity allows you to upgrade to manufacturer specific codes and not just the generic OBDII stuff.

I have an Ultraguage...works just fine. Unfortunatly being an older vehicle there is only so much data it gives you.
