Best Lift

What lift is needed to clear a 275/70/18 tire? I have a 2006 SR5 4x4 4runner.

but to help you out as we like to do here...

Those tires will fit fine with any of the 3" lift's available. that tire measures 33" tall by 10.8" wide. you may find yourself trimming some plastic here and there on the bumper but nothing extreme.

I bought a set of limited wheels and 275/70/18s from a guy and his all pro spacers and he said that this was the setup on his unlifted 4runner. He said all he had to do was take the front mud flaps off and they would fit...is this false?. Thank you both for responding and I apologize but I could not get a clear answer reading the other threads.

when you say limited wheels what are you referring to, limiteds came with 17in rims..

if you have aftermarket 18's the all pro spacers may be required to allow the tires to clear the front upper control arms pending the back spacing measurement or offset of the rim.

They may fit and not rub driving on flat ground or around town but if you were to flex off road you'll surely rub any 33 inch tire without a lift installed.

However, if you have the tires and rims best way to answer your question. put them on and see if they work for what you need, if they do awesome if they don't well then you'll need a lift.

If your just mistaking the rims to be 18's and the tire size is actually 275/70/17 then you won't have any issues to worry about.

hey guys, here's a few pics of my toyota rims and Goodyear Wrangler 275-70-18 tires that are up for sale.

as you can see, the front mud flaps have been removed to prevent rubbing. they do rub a little when you turn as far as it'll go and down into a driveway but nothing major. not sure of what lift, if any, have been used as it was like this when purchased. ahh the joys of buying someone else's work. but you can tell the tires have very little wear, i'd say less than 10,000 miles for sure. and yes the rims have been balanced again and all those weights taken off. they are great tires and get lots of compliments for sure.

i'm in North Carolina so i'm not sure on what shipping would cost would be, so the closer the better i'd think. can meet if you're not too far away.

looks like the seller has answered your question lol they should work fine. probably rub less without the wheel spacers they seem to have just been used for looks to make it look wider.

They fit, but you couldn't turn the wheel even half a turn and it liked to have ripped the front bumper off. Now to decide if I want a lift or put the wheels/tires up for sale that I just bought.

you can trim the front bumper a bit to prevent the rubbing without it looking hacked up or out of place.

if your not into off-roading just got for a spacer lift to get the clearance needed to fit the tires.

If your into off-roading i certainly suggest a full 3/2 suspension lift brands vary as well as the quality but they all perform well off-road

I'm looking at the Burtman Cornfed 3/2 spacer lift but I've heard when you get to a 3" lift or more you run into things like having to drop the differential and I don't want to get into moving and relocating stuff. Is this the case with the 3/2 spacer lift? Sorry for all the questions and I know this has probably been covered before. I just want a straight forward yea or no answer and I haven't been able to get that by reading other things. Thank you so much for all your help.

The controversial diff drop questions seems to have been deemed as the diff drop is unnecessary in the 4th gen 4runners where as it was needed in the 3rd gens (from what research I've gathered.) I went over 3 inches of lift in the front and at that point a diff drop became beneficial to my setup.

when you get up to 3 inches of lift in the front what will become an issue is getting your alignment specs back to factory spec. The camper and toe are able to be corrected with the factory alignment bolts; however, to get caster set back at a negative 2 degree angle your going to need an after market upper control arm such as Light Racing UCA's made by SPC performance, there are multiple dealers for them as well.

you can PM me any questions you have in helps of keeping the thread from becoming cluttered.
