Best Low beam LED bulbs for OEM projectors?

My new to me 2007 Sport came with LED low beams from previous owner but one recently went out. I would like to replace with a new set but not sure what to get. I prefer to have something that is plug and play with no or very little adjustment. Besides amazon reviews, I have not seen a real consensus from 4th gen owners for what they have found to be good quality and work well. Please let me know if you have a set that you are happy with and would recommend. Thanks!

Not sure if it will help get any responses but I dropped the "under $50" criteria.
Anyone have recommendations or should I go back to halogens?

Yah, cost. HID's are too expensive and LED's weren't as advanced as they are today.

Loved my TL's HID's, so wish the 4R had them.

I'm still not confident that aftermarket LED's are as advanced (or as good) as they should be yet.

There are several independent tests out there that demonstrate LED's that can out perform halogens and very competitive to HID's. The LED's I have in my 4runner are very comparable to the HID's I have in my 2014 Porsche 911's HID's. I am also running the projector housings on my 4Runner which could make a difference.

"Independent" tests? You mean like Headlight Revolution - which "tests" and then recommends LED bulbs that they make? Their tests are laughable at best. LED's offered from OEM auto manufacturers have come a long way in the last few years and many of them offer pretty decent lighting. "Drop in" LED bulbs on the other hand are still pretty much a crap shoot - especially at the lower price points and when used in housings designed for halogens.

After seeing some reviews, and the price point and not having to deal with the complexity of an HID system and instant-ON, especially for high beams. These seemed to fit the bill for me. I have been happy with the performance so far.

Not "could" but absolutely DO make a difference which is significantly greater than any LED bulb upgrade you can throw into the regular headlight.

The standard headlight reflector housing is designed around scattering light from a halogen bulb, which emits the lights completely different from an LED bulb. Many people get stuck on the "its brighter so it must be better" idea and thats just not true. I've run various LED bulbs in the standard housing, ranging from $15 dollar china knock-offs to more expensive $75 amazon sets. The result was the same. They were bright, but the patter was pure shit and I could see the road MARGINALLY better at the absolute best (while significantly increasing the amount of people I blinded).

HID's and LED's are in the same boat for me.. just a waste of money unless you want a different color headlight.

If you're truly serious about trying to increase the output you need to retrofit a projector. If you're not going to take the time and money to do that, just save the same said money and stick with the OEM halogen style bulbs. Even a cheap sub $250 HID projector kit did absolute wonders to the output and cutoff. I can't imagine something a bit more on the nicer side, like Morimoto.

Mine had stock headlights bulbs. Just put in Phillips extreme vision bulbs. $25 on Amazon and the light output is whiter and better range of sight. Keeps all the reliability and easiness of halogens with an improvement in light output. I considered LEDs, but halogens are proven and reliable. I don't want to be frustrated with my headlights.

A little late but just came across your thread.

I first tried the Auxbeam LED’s in my 08 projectors and liked the color but weren’t as bright as my halogens and was disappointed. Tried Beamtech and about the same. I was going To give the Morimoto 2.0 strokes a try after a lot of research but hated to spend that much and not be happy, especially for 3 sets. They have 3.0’s now that look great! I rolled the dice and tried the Sealight X2 Xenover and these things are frickin bright! They have great light, even patterns and of course have perfect cut offs in the projectors.

I have them for both hi’s and low’s. When on bright they are crazy bright and you can see a long ways down the road. HUGE improvement over the Halogens! I’ve had the Sealight X2’s (make sure to get the X2, not the original) since January and haven’t felt a need to try and upgrade to the 3.0’s. If interested I can post up some pics. The led bulb sizes and placement do a good job at duplicating the Halogen’s filament. I’ve never been flashed, not once when I have my dims on because they are adjusted appropriately with perfect cutoffs.

I was perplexed about all the HID & LED lights on the market. I didnt bother going with anything on amazon or fans.

I invested in the xtreme led pro from xenondepot.com

Theyre the best head lights i have owned for 2 years running. Didnt give me any problems in the Chicago winters either.

Putting this company out there for consideration. DDM tuning. I used their products (35w 5000 kelvin) for my 08 honda civic si. Headlights and fogs both had their HIDs in them. The guy who bought the car from me in 2010 has yet to change the HID kits i installed in 09.
