Best OBD II for Android or do something else

So I've finally got back into an Android phone (Pixel 2 XL) and my old wifi OBD tool doesn't work. So I'm looking to go the Torque Pro app route with a Bluetooth dongle in the OBD II port.

What is the best option out there? I see people talk about this and Scangauge. Will I be able to see Air/fuel ratios with the Torque Pro app on my 01? If not what vital information is missing?

My iphone setup basically allowed me to read and clear codes with a few other things even with a nice paid app.

You can do everything with Torque that you can with scangauge. It also reads and clears all codes easily. I'll link you the ODBII reader I have. I've had it for over a year. It works perfectly and has never lost pair. I leave it plugged in 24/7 and have never had it affect my battery at all. I've never used a scanguage but I'm more then satisfied with Torque and this ODBII reader.

As far as what Torque can do hit Google. That's gonna keep you busy for a while. Look at custom PID's to get a real idea what the app can do.

Yes. You'll be able to see any information going to the cpu. The transmission has 2 types, try both or just drive a bit so the one that captures data can post some on the selection list, you'll see what i mean.

It's $5 for the 'deluxe' full featured memory version.

I especially like how you can choose from many guage/dial types, shapes, with or with/out high/low captures, numerics or needle guages and many sizes of guages to allow you to put all your favorite info on one screen yet like an android phone it has several screens you can add other guages/info.

It also shows you the ready state of the various emissions and such so you know when it's 'safe' to get inspected. You can move it from auto to auto to keep up with all of them too.

As theesotericone stated - its the one to go with hands down for the money. I did go with a cheapo odb2 though, you know one of those from china that costs about $12 but that was several years ago and it still works!

As far as readers, I went with a cheaper product - BAFX Products 34t5 .

Of course now I wondering if theesotericone's is better, hmmmm :redbrick:

This is the one I was looking at. Hard to argue with +9,000 reviews at 4.4 rating.
