best rear coils for towing ?

What kind of spring setup would you guys use for my needs? I would like to keep the Bilstein 4600's.

906's will get you 2" or slightly more....I studied this and obtained all kinds of actual measurements. I just installed mine and bam 2" of lift. They are brand new so I don't know how they will support actual weight. I laughed because I buy a couple ton of pellets a year when they go on sale for 50% off. I am going to continually add weight and measure the sag. I put a stinger hitch plate on and stood on it (250lb total) and it barely moved the springs.

Are you absolutely stuck on springs? For about $90 bucks and an hours time you can put air bags on it and absolutely nothing changes other than your ability to haul more weight. A bicycle pump will work easily if you don't have a compressor. Lifetime warranty!!

Where do you find a ton at 50% off? The lowest I ever see is $229 a ton for Appalachian pellets but I[m fairly new to the pellet burning world so I've only been to a number of places so far. Agway, Tractor Supply, Buck's Fire Place, and HD/Lowes.

I considered the air bags but my factory springs are tired and soft. Maybe I'll reconsider them.

I wouldn't. I had airbags to begin with, and they're ok, but replacing coils and shocks is a lot better, albeit more expensive.

I live across the country from you!!! LOL Unknown what wood you get in your pellets, but we get fir (burns hot and no ash) for $125-135 ton in the summer. A locally owned lumber supply has the best prices around. We can get pine for about 110. He never carries any over so you have to watch daily, and they will be sold out in a week or so. It works as I can store as many as I need for the coming winter.

I get adding new springs as I did the same just yesterday but I wanted lift for snow chain clearance. You wanted your factory ride but ability to tow....put new factory springs with air bags. Just throwing the air bags out to save money and they actually work great. Again just my experience and opinion on what you initially said you wanted.

We use them on all our trucks that actually haul/tow weight....I have a set to go in my 906's but I'm waiting to see if I really need/want them. I just did just under 500 miles on them...pretty stiff and bouncy compared to the worn out stuff. Also very bouncy compared to both my previous 95's and my current 14/24k....personally not even close to the factory ride. It could be the 5100 shocks adding to the stiffness on bumps also. So far I like them but they are not even close to factory comfort IMO.

sway bars in 2001 T4R for trailer towing

Do you have sway bars already?
On a 2001 T4R that has the factory towing package, are the upgraded sway bars already there, included?
Adequate for 3000 lb boat trailer.

The (stock) swaybars on a 3rd gen are all the same. The factory tow package is just a hitch and wiring harness, no other changes.
