Hi,, Just bought a 1990 4Runner a couple of weeks ago and wanted to change the plugs and wires. Does anyone know which is the best for the truck, or most appropriate? I heard alot of people say NGK, but which one model, Also any recomendations on the wires. Any infor would be great, Thanks. P.s. Degree of difficulty on changing plugs and wires????

NGK are fine I think they are the brand Toyota would use.
Just check for the correct gap. 0.031 in
I would also use Toyota wires too.
I have always found Toyota parts to be of good quality.
I would guess you have the 3.0L V6?
A good set of swivial sockets help with the spark plug changing.
Not by any means a PITA job to do though.30min max.

i use the vpower and love them. i hate the bosch platinum 4, or bosch plugs in general in a toyota. stick with ngk, there cheap and work good

Well, this is quite a stretch for such an old post, but how did those iridium NGks do?

I was asking this question myself, as I am getting pre-combustion problems in my 3.0. After some research I've heard that spark plugs that are able to withstand high temperatures are the best for the 3.0. The 3vze generally has overheating problems, hence why the headgaskets always go in them, also causing pre-ignition in the combustion chambers. Usually the cylinders 5 and 6, which are the ones near the firewall.
