Hello Everyone I recently moved to Indiana for a bit and I'm seeing alot of vehicles on the road with rust eating away at the cars aaaand I'm wondering if that is because of the snow and salt? I don't want that happening to my 4runner so I thought it would be wise to invest in a SUV cover this one has a lifetime warranty I would like your opinion before I buy and maybe some precautionary tips to keep the cancer away? let me know? thanks.

The rust is generally from the salt they put down on the roads in the winter. So, covering a parked car really isn't going to help. You need to coat the frame with some Por15 or something similar or at least hose it down every few weeks during the winter when driving on treated roads.

Here in Canada the fight against rust never stops. I would recommend trying to wash the vehicle every week, and if you can get right under the vehicle with a pressure washer. That's been pretty successful for me but if you want, coating the under carriage with oil, paint, or undercoating helps too, you just need to re-apply it every now and again. Like previously mentioned, that cover isn't really going to help.
