better performance

hey guys ive had my 1995 4runner sr5 v6 3.0L 2wd with 145,000 miles since november '07 and i love it but im looking to get some more power out of it. i was looking at some different parts, just wondering if anyone has them or know how well they work/ dont work. i was thinking about getting an air intake kit like the k&n or downey kit, a venom 400 control module, new spark plugs and ignition wires (any recommendations) and an exhaust sytem whats the best setup mufflers and size? i will be using it for daily driving in town/highway and a little towing/off roading. any help would be greatly apperciated. Well many people will jump on this and say what a waste of time.. blah blah.. swap a 3.4 ...etc...

However it really comes down to expectations. You can get some more out of this engine but there is a legitimate argument to be made that the engine is really too small for the truck.

That said I have found that just a good cat back system with new cat improved fuel economy by 1.5 mpg and opened up the higher RPM range. I made my own ISR mod for $28. http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=3819.0

The ISR make the throttle response much more crisp and added some top end boost.

People say good things about Weasy camps and Downey headers.

One thing I can't stress enough, when you listen to people's input, make sure they have actually ran the gear they are talking about. This is on topic dominated by web wheeling no nothings with strong opinions.
