better reception ?

anybody know how to get better radio reception in an 06 t4r? even upgrading to a better head unit didnt work. is there an antenna or signal booster that would help?

well there is a in-glass antenna in one of the far rear windows. I do agree that the reception is poor, keep me updated on how you plan to fix it.

Actually, there is an antenna in both rear quarter windows. From what I've read, it's what's called a "diversity antenna" setup, and the head unit uses the stronger signal of the two antennae.

You didnt have your rear quarter windows tinted with a metallic tint film, did you? This could cause hell on reception. Also says in the owners manual that it's a no-no. Dyed films only on those two windows. Only drawback to the etched antennae on the glass is you have to use crappy dyed tint films over them lol.

If'n that's not the case, perhaps you are just in a poor area for brodcast signals. Maybe there are some FM boosters available.

Just FWIW, my 06's reception is crystal clear, pretty much everywhere I've been. I pick up stations in the 4Runner that I can barely hear in my 2000 Ram with the old style mast antenna on the fender.
